Mary Beth brings coaching clients the best of a 30-year career leading nonprofits, practicing law, and managing teams. Mary Beth challenges and inspires clients to deepen self-awareness and strengthen emotional intelligence, leading to growth, empowerment, fulfillment, successful teams and great leadership.
She specializes in coaching leaders and teams, including nonprofits, law firms, companies, and universities, and she mentor coaches students in Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance at American University through Heidrick & Struggles in Washington, DC. She is PCC-certified with the International Coach Federation (ICF). She serves on the Board of Directors of ICF Metro DC, the largest local chapter worldwide, where she co-chairs the Committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Mary Beth partners with diverse teams to help them define a vision, move from vision to action, and broker solutions with varied constituents along the way. She has experience coaching under-represented leaders and teams, and she believes that reinforces diversity, equity and inclusion programs, leading to sustainable results. Individual and team assessments can provide powerful insight to clients, and Mary Beth is certified in DISC, Driving Forces and EQ, through TTISI.
A New Orleans native, Mary Beth graduated from Vanderbilt University and LSU law school. She practiced law in Hong Kong (Exxon Chemical and Hyatt International), Louisiana (Davenport, Files & Kelly), and Washington, DC (MCI Communications Corporation).
In 2012, she was elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for the largest ANC district in DC, where she served two terms. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards, and most recently cofounded and served as president of Van Ness Main Street, where she worked with over 1,000 stakeholders, including C-level city officials, agency heads, senior university administrators, nonprofits, commercial property owners, business leaders, real estate developers, ambassadors and local residents. She has initiated, advocated for and secured multi-million-dollar project funding through creative events, grants, advocacy and major gift initiatives across her work with different organizations.
Coaching changed Mary Beth’s life, and she wants to bring that deeper level of self-awareness, perspective shift, and alignment to others. Her warmth and open presence create a safe environment where her insightful questions challenge and inspire. Clients appreciate her balance of support and drive for action. She is an agile learner, with a passion for results, eager to help clients lean into strengths, and replace confusion with confidence and clarity.
